Assumptions for Tuition Assistance:

  • Students meet the requirements to be GRAs
  • Enrollment, percent appointment and salary requirements are met
  • Tuition only is paid from the pool (no campus or professional school fees)

Tuition Assistance from Pool?
Comments
1) GRA is paid from externally sponsored government grant funds but no tuition has been budgeted on the grant or tuition is not allowed in the budget.
Yes
Must include tuition in next competitive proposal submission if allowed by sponsor.
2) GRA is paid from externally sponsored government grant funds but no student salary or tuition were originally budgeted on the grant (funds originally budgeted for another purpose).
No
The expectation is that tuition would be rebudgeted from other categories, as was the GRA salary.
3) GRA is paid from externally sponsored government grant funds and tuition is paid from the grant, but there are insufficient budget dollars to cover the tuition increase.
