W. T. Kemper Fellowships for Teaching Excellence
The W.T. Kemper Fellowships for Teaching Excellence are designed to support, improve and reward outstanding teaching, advising and service at all of the campuses of the University of Kansas. Twenty $5,000 Fellowships will be awarded to eligible faculty at the start of the Fall semester. The Call for Applications outlines criteria and nomination procedures for the awards.

Please check back spring 2010 for the Call for Applications.

Big XII Faculty Fellowship Program
This program offers faculty the opportunity to travel to institutions in the Big XII Conference to exchange ideas and research.

Keeler IntraUniversity Professorship
The purpose of this program is to provide faculty members an opportunity to strengthen their knowledge of an academic specialty, to broaden or achieve greater depth in a defined field of study, or to achieve competence in a new area of scholarly endeavor.

Sabbatical Leave
Faculty members interested in applying for a sabbatical leave should consult the May Memo which outlines Board of Regents and University guidelines and policies concerning sabbatical leaves.

Scholarly and International Travel Funds
Funds are awarded by Graduate Studies to faculty and students for travel to academic conferences and other scholarly activity. Funds are limited and are available strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.

Senior Administrative Fellows Program
The University of Kansas Senior Administrative Fellows program is based on the philosophy from the American Council on Education (ACE) fellows, “Few institutions think systematically about the development of administrative leadership. Yet the skills and qualifications necessary for success as a professor are not the same as those required for success as a department chair, dean, or president.” KU has a wealth of talent within its faculty ranks, however, few faculty have the luxury of taking an entire year off to participate in such excellent programs as the ACE Fellows.

Fulbright Programs
The Office of International Programs also coordinates the application process for both faculty and graduate students for research grants under the auspices of Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Program and the Faculty Research Abroad Program (Fulbright-Hays).

New Faculty General Research Fund

Outreach Partnership Grant
The Office of the Provost and KU Continuing Education are pleased to announce that a limited number of Outreach Partnership Grants (OPG) is available to support university outreach programs and conferences in fiscal year 2009.

We encourage you to submit a proposal and application for funds if you will be planning or hosting an academic conference, short course or seminar between July 2008 and June 30, 2009. You may also apply to fund major events in subsequent years.

Consulting

Approval of all consulting and outside professional activity by faculty that does not meet the "single" occasion consulting definition in Section D.28 of the Handbook for Faculty and Other Unclassified Staff must be obtained prior to the start of the consulting relationship. Single occasion activities should be reported annually to the Dean of the College or School.
