Handbook for Faculty and Other Unclassified Staff – 1986

Because the 1986 edition of the handbook has been out of print for some time, an on-line version was made available on KU-FACTS in February 1997. A new handbook is in preparation. Sections A, B, and C of the 1998 edition are completed, have been approved, and are available on the Provost?s Office web page. Additional sections of the new handbook will be added as they are updated, reviewed, and approved. The text of the 1986 edition follows.

Please note that in addition to materials contained in Sections A, B, and C of the 1998 handbook, a significant number of the policies and procedures contained in the 1986 handbook have been revised and new versions disseminated through the appropriate avenues (campus-wide mailings, publication in other sources such as the Timetable of Classes, the Datebook and Student Handbook, the Policy and Procedures Manual of the Board of Regents, the University Senate Code and the Rules and Regulations of the University and Faculty Senates, etc.) In the event that you need information about the status of a particular policy, please contact my office (864-4904), other administrative offices as appropriate, or the Office of University Governance (864-5169).
