Dear Colleagues:
We are pleased to present you with a copy of the new and completely revised Handbook for Faculty and Other Unclassified Staff. As with the previous edition, this edition of the Handbook has been conceived and published more as a policy manual than as an informational text. We are more and more affected by legislation, charters, guidelines, rules and regulations, so we have included for your information policies, regulations and other information which you should find useful in your professional activities here. All of the policies and procedures published in this Handbook have received appropriate review and approval. All appointments to the faculty and unclassified staff are governed by these policies and procedures. If, after you have had an opportunity to review your copy of the Handbook, other possible changes occur to you, please communicate them through SenEx or directly to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. We want the Handbook to be of maximal use to our colleagues. Your comments and suggestions about ways to improve it will ensure that we achieve that goal.
