Center for Teaching Excellence
CTE provides opportunities for faculty to discuss students' learning and ways to enhance learning in their classrooms; supports faculty as they implement their ideas for improving students' learning; brings research about teaching to the attention of the university community; encourages involvement in the scholarship of teaching and learning; offers course assistance at any stage; fosters instruction innovation; and advocates and recognizes excellence in teaching.


Instructional Development and Support
IDS, an academic support unit reporting to the Office of the Provost, provides the entire Lawrence campus community with assistance in creating, maintaining and improving learning environments – both physical and virtual.  Faculty contact IDS to learn about designing instruction that takes advantage of a wide variety of innovative teaching strategies and available-right-now technologies, including Blackboard (KU's web course development software) and media classroom instruction.


University Libraries
Library instructional services include designing class or assignment-specific resource guides, conducting specialized research sessions for students and working with faculty to help design effective assignments requiring the use of information resources.


Student Success
As a partner in the educational process, Student Success provides services and programs that are essential to the intellectual, cultural, physical, social and moral development of students.  Student Success encourages students to realize their potential as individuals and as prepared, enlightened, responsible members of an increasingly complex and diverse global society. 


International Faculty Awards for the Improvement of Teaching
Two general types of activities are eligible for support:  Activities that would aid faculty members enrich their teaching; and the creation of new courses with an international focus.Mentoring Graduate Students:  The University of Kansas views preparing the next generation of professional artists, engineers, scholars, and scientists as a vital part of its mission.  Mentoring guidelines are provided to strengthen and enhance the overall quality of the doctoral experience at the University of Kansas.  These guidelines constitute standards of good practice, which the Graduate School recommends to doctoral programs.
