I want to inform you of the recently approved the Retiree Rehire Policy, available in the Policy Library at https://documents.ku.edu/policies/provost/RetireeRehire.htm. This policy applies to all retired faculty and staff who seek reemployment with the University. Case law and Internal Revenue Service private letter rulings require the establishment of a bona fide separation from service for purposes of accessing retirement funds. The policy will help ensure that the University adheres to relevant laws and rulings when rehiring a retired member of the faculty or staff.
