Dear Colleagues:
The University of Kansas is pleased and honored to serve as the host of the 2009 Tilford Conference on the Lawrence campus on October 5 and 6, 2009. As you may know, the Tilford Conference has had a long and storied history in Kansas of bringing together educators from across the state to learn, share and interact around the themes of diversity, equity and multiculturalism.
This year’s conference is designed to continue our collective commitment to continue the conversation and share information that will hopefully not only continue to move our respective institutions forward, but also provide for personal and professional growth.
I would like to extend an invitation to you and encourage your colleagues to attend this year’s conference which will be held in the Kansas Union. In addition, we have invited our Community College colleagues to attend. While this is a new initiative, we believe that our colleagues at the Community Colleges are an important link in our educational system in the State of Kansas.
There is no cost to attend, however, you must pre-register so that we can plan accordingly. You can access the Conference program and pre-registration form at: www.continuinged.ku.edu/programs/tilford
We look forward to hosting this exciting conference on our campus—October 5 and 6; and equally important, having a significant KU presence. I hope you can join us as we all work together to promote and enhance our collective efforts toward a more just and equal system of higher education in the State of Kansas.
Fred
