Dear Colleagues:

Faculty Senate and University Senate requested that the Office of the Provost develop a policy for the conferral of posthumous degrees. After consultation with governance leaders and academic deans, a policy has been developed in order to recognize the achievement of students who have died. Please refer to the policy for a full understanding of the circumstances under which this may be possible, as well as the appropriate channels to initiate the conferral of such a degree. Thank you.
