Inventory of two-way radios, data transmitters, and wireless microphones

Dear Colleagues:

I need your assistance to develop an inventory of two-way radios, data transmitters, and wireless microphones on the Lawrence and Edwards campuses. We also need to inventory the FCC radio licenses that are assigned to various KU administrative units.

Briefly, on January 1, 2013, the FCC will reconfigure the use of many of the radio frequencies that are now in use at KU. Consequently, many of our KU radios that transmit will have to be replaced. We will be contracting with Topeka FM Radio to do an evaluation of all of our radio equipment and our licenses to determine what needs to be updated and what does not.

Please provide the following to Liz Phillips at the KU Public Safety Office by August 15:

  1. A copy of any FCC radio licenses that your unit holds.
  2. An inventory of two-way radios
  3. An inventory of any data transmitters that transmit into the atmosphere
  4. An inventory of wireless microphones

If you are not sure if equipment that you own or use qualifies, please ask.
