Colleagues in the KU Community,

As we begin a series of leadership changes at KU, I want you to know that I am committed to a smooth transition. I have coordinated transition plans within the Office of the Provost with Richard Lariviere; I also maintain ongoing communication with Robert Hemenway, Barbara Atkinson, and Bernadette Gray-Little in preparation for the transition in the Office of the Chancellor. I am fortunate to work with a strong team of Vice Provosts and Deans who are committed to our mission. It is my intent to maintain continuity and effectiveness in our operations and planning. To that end, both routine and urgent matters normally addressed to or handled by the Provost should be brought to my attention for action or consideration.

We have a great University, and I am confident that we will continue to excel without interruption to our critical work of teaching, research, and service. I look forward to working with each of you in the days ahead.
