The Office of the Provost and KU Continuing Education are pleased to announce that a limited number of Outreach Partnership Grants (OPG) is available to support university outreach programs and conferences in fiscal year 2009.
We encourage you to submit a proposal and application for funds if you will be planning or hosting an academic conference, short course or seminar between July 2008 and June 30, 2009. You may also apply to fund major events in subsequent years.
KU Serving Kansas
Noncredit programs and conferences are excellent opportunities for the university to serve Kansans and enhance KU’s visibility throughout the state. Such programs offer faculty unique forums to showcase their work and disseminate significant research while serving sizeable audiences.
Reach a National Audience
The partnerships also support faculty efforts to create programs featuring nationally known speakers. These speakers often generate media coverage and visibility for the faculty’s programs and the university. Outreach/dissemination programs through distance delivery are also favored for the grants. New programs that enhance KU’s visibility or outreach/dissemination programs will be given greater consideration than smaller programs.
It’s Easy to Apply
Go to www.ContinuingEd.ku.edu/opg for a summary and guidelines governing the Outreach Partnership Grants. Carefully review the guidelines and complete the preapplication online (including a draft of a budget), or print and complete the form, and send it to Jim Peters, Continuing Education, by April 30, 2008.
A Continuing Education program manager will contact you to discuss the feasibility of your program. If the program meets the guidelines, the program manager will help you finalize the budget and application materials for the provost. Continuing Education staff will assist you in every phase of program development and management.
Please contact KU Continuing Education at 785-864-4790 to set an appointment or if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Jim Peters
