As you know, Kathleen McCluskey-Fawcett has decided to step down from the position of Vice Provost. I am deeply grateful to her—as we all are—for her steady and generous service to KU in this capacity. She has been a great help to me especially and I will continue to avail myself of her good judgment and good humor.

We are now faced with the challenge of replacing Kathleen. I have attached a position description for this job. I would be grateful if you could have a look at this and send me the names of individuals whom you think would be effective in this position. I welcome all forms of nomination, self nomination, anonymous suggestions, calls, e-mail, letter, etc. Use whatever means suits you best.

I would like to have this person in position to begin June 1. I am looking for an insider—not a national search—who knows KU.
