The proper handling of data and information at KU is a key component of the success for our enterprise. It is crucial that every member of the KU community be competent, consistent, and accountable in their handling of sensitive and confidential information. We strongly encourage you to enhance your knowledge and skills in protecting the valuable and important information we have regarding our students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Nationwide, April 9-13, 2007, is Health Information Privacy and Security (HIPS) awareness week. The KU Privacy and IT Security offices are joining together this week to remind our community about resources available to us for enhanced awareness, knowledge, and success in managing critical information and data.

Attached is a PDF file, Tips for 2007 and we are launching a new blog for information privacy & security chat at: http://www2.ku.edu/~privacy/cgi-bin/mydrupal/
