The Department of Human Resources and Equal Opportunity (HR/EO) collaborates with other administrative offices on campus to offer an orientation program for new managers. The program has been well received by past participants. We solicit your assistance in identifying new managers who should be invited to participate in the fall semester session on October.

The program is designed to assist new managers in gaining a greater understanding of the University's administrative support functions. Participants will meet key campus administrators and will gain insights about resources available to help them manage their units. The preliminary agenda for the orientation session, including a luncheon, is attached.

The program is best suited for individuals who manage (rather than supervise) a departmental program or function and who have the discretion to establish program direction. Individuals who are most likely to benefit from this program are those who function at the level of assistant director or higher and who have assumed their management roles within the last five years.

By September 15, please provide Ola Faucher, HR/EO (ofaucher@ku.edu), with the names of individuals in your area who should be invited to attend this program. Please confirm their availability for the October 25 session when you nominate them.
