KU community invited to attend KU Remembers event

LAWRENCE – The KU community is invited to attend an event honoring students, employees and retirees who passed away during the previous 12 months. KU Remembers will take place at 3 p.m. April 12 in the Burge Union, Forums A and B.

After commemorating each community member who has died, including a reading of names, there will be time for silent meditation, connection and conversation. Danforth Chapel, the nondenominational chapel on the KU Lawrence campus, will also be open for meditation and prayer until 8 p.m.

In addition, there will be an informal gathering at the Campanile at 8 p.m. A bell will ring for each individual, accompanied by a carillon performance of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” by Elizabeth Berghout, university carillonneur and associate professor of music.

Please RSVP for the event by Friday, April 5. Parking is free for event attendees in the Allen Fieldhouse garage.
